We have an amazing team, who all understand the importance of making sure each and every child is happy and comfortable. Each doctor and staff member helps make Rocket City Kids a fun, comfortable environment for children. Our team feels truly blessed to work with such an excellent group of people. Come and meet us!
First Visit
The first examination is recommended at the time of the eruption of the first tooth and no later than 12 months of age. At this initial visit, the dentist will have the opportunity to conduct an oral examination and provide parental consultation about your child’s oral health. Establishing a dental home allows your child to become comfortable with dental visits while building a relationship with their dentist. We are able to assess your child’s caries risk and develop a plan to prevent future decay.Preventive Care
We understand the importance of keeping your children’s teeth healthy and strong from an early age. That’s why we are dedicated to providing brighter smiles for Rocket City Kids. We believe that preventive care is the key to a lifetime of healthy teeth, and we are here to help your child get off to the best start. Fluoride
Teeth are constantly under attack from our diet. Fluoride actively restores enamel. Topical fluoride treatment is effective in protecting children’s teeth and reducing cavities.
Radiographs (X-rays)
Radiographs (or x-rays) are an essential part of our diagnostic protocol. Without them, dental conditions may go undetected. Dental x-rays detect much more than dental cavities, and they allow the dentist to evaluate growth and development, bone health, pathology, and trauma. We use the latest dental x-ray technology with very minimal exposure.
Benefits of Sealants
Effective Decay Prevention: Sealants provide a physical barrier that keeps out harmful bacteria and food.
Long-lasting Protection: With proper care, sealants can protect teeth for many years.
Non-Invasive Procedure: Applying sealants is a quick, pain-free process with no drilling or removal of tooth structure.
Saves Time and Money: By preventing cavities, sealants reduce the need for fillings, crowns, or caps later on.
Ideal for Children and Teens: Especially beneficial for those who are at higher risk of tooth decay.
Restorative
Restorative dental care for children focuses on repairing and preserving the health and function of their teeth. These treatments aim to treat dental decay, injuries, or developmental issues, allowing children to regain their beautiful smiles and maintain optimal oral health.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
Should your child have a cavity, we use a resin tooth-colored filling to restore function and comfort to your child’s tooth. These fillings restore teeth to an attractive, healthy state!
Crowns
If your child’s cavity is too large to restore with a tooth-colored filling, a crown may be recommended. Crowns help protect the baby teeth, providing structure for the tooth. Crowning a tooth also maintains the space, allowing the eventual permanent tooth to erupt properly. If you are concerned about a silver crown, talk to our doctors about the possibility of a tooth-colored crown!
Space Maintenance
The baby teeth serve as space holders for the permanent teeth. With the loss of a baby tooth, neighboring teeth start migrating into that vacant space, potentially changing your child’s bite. This may lead to the need for extensive orthodontic treatment at a later age. A space maintainer is placed in that area to hold the space open so that the adult tooth can erupt in a more appropriate position.
Extractions
Your child may need to have a tooth extracted. Most often, extractions are indicated due to infection or crowding. Our doctors will review your child’s needs and discuss treatment options with you.
